Is he just being nice or into me?

Okay, I was on my facebook and noticed this really cute guy from my hometown, but he lives in California now. So its a 3 hour difference bc I'm in South Carolina. I added him because I used to talk to him a long time ago. Well he added me back, and liked some of my photos...and we started a poking war. I know lol...and i messaged him and we started chatting after that. We started out on FB chat then he suggested we start texting, so we started it yesterday. He went through a situation Im going through right now with my bf/ex? Idk. He says things like why dont people comment on your looks more? I like your nose and eyes, your cute. And we text a little bit, bc of the time difference. well, today we texted each other and was talking about stories that we shared with other, and today i mentioned a snow ski story about how i fell and got hurt from it and he said "well, it seemed like you needed a hug that day, i would've cheered you up, i would fall apart if i saw your sad face." ?? Then yesterday he found out we had something in common, and he said you just made me smile. and I said aww im glad i made someone smile. and he said its hard not to when i talk with you. Now hes coming home from Cali in 3 weeks for 13 days. But he is hitting 2 spots in sc before coming to our hometown. I'm so confused, plus hes like 3 years older than me. You think he is just being nice? Should I get attached. He also was like people get paid more in here cali, i was like damn i should move there, he said you should i can see you being here. But he said he was moving home in a few years. I just don't know, I am not used to this. I don't want to be all stalker and obsessive. We have perfect initials too, J & J. He also said his mom knows my dad. I wish i knew, I def don't want to move to cali, i wouldn't mind visiting there...help please!!!
