Can you tell a persons character by the music they listen to?

It might sound arrogant, but when somebody tells me that their favourite artist is someone like Kanye West or Ozzy Osbourne, I think they must be shallow people. They must not feel life and the variety of emotions that it offers as deeply as I do, because naturally you seek out music that can reflect these emotions, rather than just something that sounds good. When I listen to a song like Born to run or Stairway to heaven, I feel like im on the verge of tears and my chest feels heavy with emotion. I dont think many people get that feeling from music anymore.
